‘Game of Thrones’ plot summaries for the first five episodes of the forthcoming season have hit the internet — and they’re full of spoilers.
With just weeks left until the highly-anticipated season 2 premiere, HBO’s Game of Thrones media onslaught is in full-force – with interviews, images, featurettes, trailers galore, and more, more, more to tide you over.
Today, we have plot summaries for the first five episodes of the forthcoming season. Needless to say, for those who’ve yet to read the books and would rather watch dvd season two unspoiled, there are MASSIVE SPOILERS in these summaries. Read further at your own peril!
Apparently, the first half of the season will focus on Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) attempting to rein in the imbred insanity of his adolescent nephew, the dictatorial King Joffrey (Jack Gleeson).
It’ll be interesting to see if the television version of Tyrion in this series becomes more of a focal point of the story than the literary version was in A Clash of Kings – which would make sense, given Dinklage’s critical acclaim and popularity in the role. There’s also the fact that the previous headlining character (Ned Stark as played by Sean Bean) got his head lopped off and impaled on a pike.
There has been concern amongst some fans of A Song of Ice and Fire that A Clash of Kings is a much more difficult book to adapt than the first installment (A Game of Thrones dvd box set ), and thus, the second season will have a much harder time of being awesome. If the promotional materials are anything to go by, they’ve done an excellent job so far — though trailers (and what not) can be, and have been, misleading in the past.
